With a long term view investors are happily snapping up properties in prime investment locations across the UK – there are some excellent opportunities currently available.

The lettings market has returned with a bang; agents are reporting record-breaking activity. Though renters and buyers are now being much more particular about the type of property they want to live in after an extended period in lockdown. High quality, newly built properties, without the issues that often come with older homes, are preferable to those moving.

Property sales recover to pre-lockdown levels across England: Property sales in most of England have swiftly rebounded to the same levels they were just before the lockdown, although London lags behind the rest of the country and markets in Scotland and Wales remain closed. Pent-up demand has also meant firmer prices, with the average asking price of sales agreed in the last week 6% higher than the same week in June last year. Read more in The Guardian.

Buy-to-let market sees ‘early signs of recovery’: Buy-to-let product choice is beginning to increase and some higher LTV rates have been reduced, according to the latest research from Moneyfacts, who says there are “glimmers of hope emerging” for the market following the initial impact of the coronavirus pandemic. Lettings market sees record breaking surge after market re-opens: Newly released figures from Knight Frank have revealed that activity in the lettings market has rebounded in the four weeks since the property market re-opened on 13 May. Read more.
